As Coronavirus continues to spread through Long Beach and other communities, we urge all of our families to practice “social distancing” by not attending large group gatherings and limiting travel. The primary goal right now is to slow down the spread of the disease so we do not overwhelm our healthcare system. We have implemented some policies to ensure the safety and well-being of our Columbia Pediatrics family.
Beginning Monday, March 16th:
▪️ Well-child visits will be scheduled before 3:30pm, preferably in the morning.
⭐️ On the day of your child’s well appointment – if your child or anyone accompanying your child is sick, please call the office. ⭐️
▪️ All non-sick follow-ups will be scheduled before 3:30pm (ADHD follow-ups, rashes, chronic issues such as asthma, weight-checks in babies, etc)
▪️ Same-day visits for issues such as allergies, rashes, ear pain/sore throat WITHOUT fevers, vomiting, injuries, etc. will be scheduled as normal.
▪️ ALL visits for fever AND cough will be scheduled AFTER 3:30-pm.
▪️ We urge everyone to please limit family members and friends at visits.
Remember:
⭐️ Please NO walks in! Please call if you have cold or cough symptoms.
⭐️ We can NOT test for COVID-19 at this time.
⭐️ Please do NOT go to the ER without speaking to us first, as our goal is to keep your child away from the ER.
⭐️ Public health is determining who should be tested at this time. If a concern exists, please contact us to determine if we should call public health.
If your child is scheduled for a check-up WITHOUT vaccines in the next few weeks and you would like to reschedule, please give us a call and we will accommodate you. Please notify us if you are unable to make your appointment so that we can offer that appointment time to other families in need.
We will continue to offer advice via telephone whenever possible. We are working to implement telemedicine visits as soon as possible.
Please reach out to us with any questions. Thank you for bearing with us through these uncharted waters. We strive to keep you and your family safe while providing the best medical care possible.
